CELEBRATING THE JOY OF READING: TWO AWARD-WINNING AUTHORS COMING TO NORWOOD IN APRIL

This April, Norwood students will have the opportunity to meet two celebrated children’s authors—Laura Gehl and Adam Gidwitz—as part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a love of reading and storytelling. Through engaging presentations and book signings, students across multiple grade levels will connect with authors whose work brings imagination, humor, and history to life.

Laura Gehl Visit — Thursday, April 15

We are thrilled to welcome award-winning author Laura Gehl, the author of more than 50 children’s books and a recipient of the Sydney Taylor Silver Medal. During her visit, Laura will share her work with students across the Lower School:
 
  • PK & Kindergarten: Peep and Egg: I’m Not Hatching
  • Grades 1–2: The Elevator on 74th Street
  • Grade 3: Attack Bunnies
  • Grade 4: The Ninja Club Sleepover and I Got a Chicken for My Birthday
Families may order Laura’s books in advance through Wonderland Books. All books will be delivered to Norwood, signed during her visit, and sent home with students the following day.

  • Select “Pickup in Store” at checkout (books will be delivered directly to Norwood)

Adam Gidwitz Visit — Tuesday, April 21

Students in grades 3–8 will welcome bestselling and award-winning author Adam Gidwitz. Known for his engaging blend of fantasy and historical fiction, Mr. Gidwitz is the author of:
 
  • The Unicorn Rescue Society series
  • A Tale Dark & Grimm (and its sequels)
  • The Inquisitor’s Tale
  • Max in the House of Spies (and its sequel)
During his visit, he will speak with students and sign books. Families may order books through East City Bookshop and receive a 10% discount. Books will be delivered to Norwood in time for the visit.
