This is the place where I not just overcame my shyness but became talkative and even confident. Where I discovered new hobbies and passions. Where I discovered that I was a reader, an artist, and theatre kid. Above all, this is the place where I met the best friends I have ever had. These are the people who I know I will always have by my side, the people who make me laugh every day.

Norwood’s amazing teachers, students, and overall community have made Norwood my home away from home, a home which I know I can always come back to. Norwood has also made me a better person -- not just academically but in all regards. Norwood has allowed me to accomplish things I could have only dreamed of.
Katie
Norwood is a great community with amazing students and teachers who always want to make you feel welcome. Everybody wants you to succeed and lifts you up to be your best self even when you don't believe you can. Norwood made me feel at home every day. I was always laughing with my friends. My teachers wanted my success and helped me to do my best.

One thing that will stick with me for the rest of my life is how I lead my life matters. No matter what your special interest is, no matter whether you’re into sports, the arts, or academics, what matters is how you treat others and how you lead your life. I have enjoyed my time at Norwood and will continue to keep the thoughts and ideas that have formed in my time here.

I have made so many lifelong friendships among all grades, and I am so grateful for the fellow students I have met here. So, thank you Norwood for giving me the opportunity to learn and thrive here. I am forever grateful. If I had to give any parting advice to the rising eighth graders, and any other grade for that matter, I would say to enjoy every minute here.
Theo
I am nervous about leaving the school I have attended for six years. I am nervous I won’t meet good friends and teachers in high school. But even with all this anxiety, I am still excited to move on to high school. Why? I guess it is because of how confident Norwood has made me. Norwood has made me a better person overall, and for that I will forever be grateful.
Caroline
I love Norwood because it is such an amazing, kind, and supportive community, and I could not imagine a better place to spend my middle school years. Because of Norwood, I learned how to advocate for myself.
Austin
Because of Norwood, I learned to be more open to people and to just reach out to people because that is how I got a lot of my friends. I love Norwood because I made so many connections here that I will have for a long time. My best piece of advice for a younger student is to have fun and be sure to make connections with other people.

Norwood is a great place for people who like being a big fish in a small pond; it's really easy to express yourself and become known for something at Norwood.
Cooper
I love Norwood because of how nice and caring all the kids and teachers are, how amazing it is to know everyone, and how nice it is to have a small community. Because of Norwood, I learned this important life skill: to know when to focus and when to have fun.
Izzy
Norwood has pushed me to try new things that I wouldn't have done two years ago. I have discovered many new things I love. I realized that I really enjoy softball, math and STEM competitions, and working on a musical, either on or offstage. Doing all these activities has helped me make so many amazing friends that I couldn't imagine my life without.
Nathan
At Norwood, we all know each other, and we are all known. I will always remember the farm play from kindergarten, the Rube Goldberg project in fifth grade, eight years of Field Day, which I definitely took too seriously, and the incredible eighth grade soccer season. I will always treasure my time at Norwood and remember my classmates, teachers, and friends I made here.
The ringing of the Norwood Bell is a common sound during the school day. It signifies the end of recess and time to return to class. Lower schoolers (and we suspect some middle schoolers) enjoy the opportunity to ring the bell with permission from their teacher. On graduation day, it is a tradition that each eighth grader ring the bell one last time (pictured in the photos above) before the ceremony begins.
