NORWOOD FOURTH GRADERS HONOR THE LEGACY OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. WITH MOVING VIDEO

Norwood’s fourth graders led a meaningful Martin Luther King, Jr. assembly on Thursday, January 15, 2026 (Dr. King's birthday). Through a powerful student video, the community was invited to reflect on Dr. King’s words and the lasting impact of his vision.
Guided by their teachers—Thenthia Taterway, Cameron Spangenberg, Nicole Patch, and Sharon Bradford—the fourth graders brought the video project to life, with each student contributing a spoken line from Dr. King’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech.

The video was filmed in November at the Lincoln Memorial, where Dr. King first delivered these historic words during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963, connecting students directly to the significance of both the moment and the place.

Through their voices and presence, the fourth graders reminded the Norwood community why “I Have a Dream” remains one of the most powerful and influential speeches in American history. A special thank-you goes to Director of Digital Media Mike Haynes for his support with the production of this year’s video.
