Caution All Leprechauns: Traps Ahead!

ATTENTION: Leprechauns!!! Norwood first graders are out to get you! These clever engineers built traps designed to lure you in and trap your magical powers.
The project kicked off with a lively story session where the children learned about leprechauns, the mischievous fairies from Irish folklore known for their hidden pots of gold. Inspired by these enchanting tales, the students were tasked with creating traps to catch these crafty creatures, ensuring they could secure a wish or find the elusive gold.

Each student thought carefully about how to make their trap enticing and effective, incorporating elements like fake gold coins, rainbows, glitter, and greenery to attract a leprechaun. The classroom buzzed with excitement as the students engineered their traps, thinking carefully and creatively about how to lure and trap these crafty creatures. This hands-on activity not only encouraged creative thinking but also emphasized the importance of recycling and reusing materials in fun and inventive ways.

As the traps took shape, students decorated them with bright colors and sparkling stickers, adding a personal touch to each design. The final creations were displayed in the classroom, and the students shared their designs with classmates, explaining how their traps worked and what inspired their ideas.
