First Graders Stir Up Some Delicious Fun

After a dellightful trip to Homestead Farms to pick apples, enjoy a hayride, and visit with some adorable farm animals, our first graders put on their chef's hats and made some applesauce.
They took turns cutting the apples into cubes, watching them simmer and soften in a crockpot all day, and then rolled up their sleeves to do some smashing and stirring. They also took a poll to find out the most popular apple: green, red, or yellow. The best part, besides the delicious aroma wafting through the Lower School, was enjoying a cupful of their homemade creation. The consensus: Thumbs up all around!
