Middle School Students Participate in the annual AATSP Poster Contest

Wish these fifth and sixth graders good luck (or buena suerte)! Their posters were selected to be entered into the state level of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) Poster Contest.
Working in pairs and independently, and under the guidance of Spanish teacher and world languages coordinator Vicky Masson, the students designed posters capturing this year's theme: nuevos horizontes para la comunicación y la cultura (New Horizons for Communication and Culture). Last year, a Norwood fifth grader placed first in the fourth- and fifth-grade category in the national competition! The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) sponsors the poster contest each year to encourage cross-curricular collaboration, promote creative thinking, and celebrate visual learners and artistic expression. Stay tuned!

Update - May 4, 2023:  Two fifth graders received first place in the 4th/5th grade division of the national competition, and one fifth grader placed third in the same division. ¡ENHORABUENA!
