And they're off! Congratulations to the Class of 2021!

Congratulations to the 57 members of the Class of 2021 who completed their Norwood journeys on Wednesday, June 9, and are now heading off to 22 different high schools.
Whether they attended Norwood for nine years or two years, members of the Class of 2021 certainly left their mark on the School with their academic achievement, service to community, leadership skills, kindness and compassion, fun-loving nature, and an abundance of talent in music, art, athletics, and so much more. This special class was honored during the last few days of the school year with Class Day, a fun-filled Class Party, and, finally, Commencement.

Some fun facts about the Class of 2021:
  • 29 students started in kindergarten
  • 7 students started in first grade
  • 45 students have siblings who are current Norwood students or Norwood alumni
  • 2 students are from families with more than one generation to attend Norwood
  • 37 are the last children of their families to attend Norwood
Recently, the class raised more than $2,300 in just two weeks for their class charity, The Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. Included in their fundraising program was the opportunity to "Pie a Teacher in the Face." This popular event was bravely supported by five middle school teachers who stood tall and took it in the face for a great cause. Click here for photos of the fun event.

Class Day performances took place live on June 7 with just the eighth graders and their parents in the audience. What an impressive line-up of performances! Everything from Chopin to Rihanna and The Beatles to Hendrix, with some poignant readings and speeches mixed in. The following day, a recording of the event was shared with the entire school community during virtual Class Day Chapel. Click here for Class Day photos; click here to watch the recording.
