October 7th Professional Day Choices

Please select from among the sessions below for your afternoon session. Be sure to include your name with your selection. NOTE: the division letters in parenthesis for each session indicate what grade band the examples in the session will skew towards. IMPORTANTLY, any one can go to any of the three session. Everyone will benefit from the discussion and will have takeaways that can be used in class. PLEASE SIGN UP FOR THE SESSION YOU FIND MOST INTERESTING.

A. Tiered Tasks (LS)
- This session will be a deeper dive into the presentation from March on this topic: when to use them, how to design them. Also, there will be an opportunity for faculty to share practices they've done so far this year

B. Methods of Differentiation: Content, Process, and Product (MS)
- This session will discuss a framework for deciding when and how to differentiate a lesson. Also, we will discuss examples of each step of the process.

C. Developing and Using Interest and Learning Inventories (LS and MS)
- This session will be a discussion around the basics of how to use data about student interest and learning inventories to inform instruction. Additionally, it will focus on applying these inventories to inform instruction.
