Posting Announcements of Upcoming Events
The general policy for website news items is that they will appear for about seven days maximum. This is for two reasons: 1) to limit the total number of items that appear there; and 2) to keep the news current. Exceptions are occasionally made to this policy... If there is a lack of news on a given week, we may hold over some news items from a previous week. For items of special importance such as communications from the Head, or for large Norwood events, we will extend news items' longevity. Sometimes we will repeat the contents of a news item, but with added information. For events or activities that span multiple weeks, we encourage use of announcements in the Thursday Memo.
Reporting (with Photos) on Events That Have Happened
The School's News & Events Web Site Editor attends most all-school events and usually snaps some photos of these events to include as news on our web site. However, our editor does not attend grade-level specific or extracurricular events. For these events, our editor posts news items that people send by email. When including photos, we ask that you choose up to 5 photos and email these as attachments to the editor (along with your text & headline). If you have more than 5 photos that you want to put on the web site, please contact our webmaster. For faculty members, the webmaster will work with you to create a “photo album” using PhotoShop Elements software, and show you how to move this photo album onto the web-server.
