The sense that great things are happening at Norwood is tangible as you walk our corridors. We pride ourselves on the depth and breadth of our curriculum, the quality of our faculty, and the outstanding citizenship displayed by our students. Current parents were recently asked to list "Pride Points" for Norwood School. Here is a summary of what they said:
- Every one of your child's teachers knows your child well.
- Norwood's academic standards are high and the curriculum demanding; ensuring that the most gifted student can be challenged. Despite Norwood's academic rigor, no child is left to struggle alone.
- At Norwood, every student is an artist.
- A daily handshake with a principal and morning chapel, traditions started over 50 years ago, signal to each child that he/she is an important and valued member of the community and that the day has begun.
- At an early age, our students learn that the world extends beyond our country's borders and that English language skills alone are insufficient to navigate and fully appreciate the world.
- Norwood strives to make every child feel respected, included, welcomed, and celebrated for who they are and what they can contribute to the community.
- Norwood children learn to behave responsibly, with honesty, compassion and generosity in a supportive environment where mistakes are treated as learning opportunities and good conduct is modeled and praised.
- For years, Norwood has been a leader in integrating cutting-edge technology into the classroom.
- Norwood combines unequaled facilities and an outstanding middle school interscholastic athletics program with an enthusiastic physical education faculty committed to the idea that sports and fitness are for every child.
- Learning starts, but does not end, in the classroom.
- Norwood is a community built around a school.
I encourage you to visit us to see for yourself this outstanding community in action.
Warmly,
Mimi Mulligan
