Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. This statement discloses the information practices for Norwood web sites, including what type of information is gathered and tracked, how the information is used, and with whom the information is shared.
Information Collection and Use
In general, you can visit Norwood on the Internet without telling us who you are and without giving any personal information about yourself. You may choose to give us personal information in order for us to correspond with you (such as to request for brochures to be mailed, to apply for Summer at Norwood, to confirm receipt of application, and/or to make online credit card payments and donations). If you give us personal information about somebody else, such as a spouse, we will assume that you have their permission to do so.
Cookies
If you log in to one of our password-protected pages, our web site (like most others) places a small piece of code called a "cookie" on your computer. This cookie is what grants you access to other password-protected pages during your browsing session. Otherwise, you would be prompted to re-enter the password for every protected page that you wanted to view. This cookie does not track your browsing or send any information from your computer.
Security
Norwood is committed to taking every reasonable step necessary to protect the confidentiality of your information. When our online forms ask users to enter sensitive information such as application or credit card information, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just ‘surfing’. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line.
Third Party Intermediaries
Like most schools, we use an outside credit card processing company to process credit card transactions. They do not retain, share, store, or use information for any purposes other than to provide billing services.
Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information
If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), please contact us at the at the contact information listed below, or send an email to FamilyUpdate@norwoodschool.org
Student Names & Photos on Web Site
It is our intention to avoid putting students’ full names (first & last names together), on a page that is not password-protected. First names are sometimes included on public pages in descriptions of events. It is our intention to avoid having student names on pages that include photos. Student photos are displayed on public pages unless a family withholds permission. All photos (including student photos) and artwork on this website may not be copied, transmitted, reproduced, modified, or published in any way without written consent from the School.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
