Author and Illustrator Kevin McCloskey to Visit Norwood on April 25

The Norwood School community looks forward to welcoming author and illustrator Kevin McCloskey on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in the Sievers Lower School Library. Mr. Johnson will visit with and sign books for students in grades PK-4.
Mr. McCloskey is the award-winning author of Caterpillars: What Will I Be When I Get to Be Me, the Giggle and Learn series (We Dig Worms!, The Real Poop on Pigeons!, Somethings Fishy!, Snails Are Just My Speed!, and Ants Don't Wear Pants!). His drawings has appeared in many newspapers, including The Village Voice and The New York Times. He wrote and illustrated a guidebook, Walking Around Hoboken, about his old hometown in 1986. His 1992 picture book, Mrs. Fitz’s Flamingos, was a selection of the Children’s Book of the Month Club. Mr. McCloskey taught at Kutztown University for 30 years. He has a special interest in printmaking and has lectured about Mexican prints at Princeton University and UCLA. In addition, he has lectured about comics for kids at Teachers College, Columbia University and at the Toronto Comics Arts Festival.

Norwood's lower school community looks forward to an interactive experience that includes Mr. McCloskey's stories about animals as well as some lessons about writing, editing, and illustrating. Students are also excited about the chance to have Mr. McCloskey sign their books!
